The Chamber 🏰 of Tech Secrets is open.
Three Quotes to Ponder
This week, I simply want to share three quotes that I think about often, whether its in work, marriage, family, hobbies, health. I kept my commentary to a minimum to leave room for your own pondering and introspection.
You don’t rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems.
-James Clear / Atomic Habits
I think about this often as I set goals and build systems to achieve them. “Have a great marriage” is a good aspiration. It is much more likely to be achieved with good systems to ensure communication, quality time, etc. This quote is a big part of why I have a series of monthly questions my wife and I answer in writing every month on the 27th (first date day), and then share answers over dinner.
Go. See. Do. Be.
-Ken Burns / Podcast with Tim Ferris
A recipe for life in simple terms. Get out there. See what the world has to offer. Become a doer who takes risks, pursues adventures, builds things, influences people. Be who you are and be content with that. This drove some of my thinking about my own long term aspirations, which are 1) Be rich in relationships 2) Be the healthiest me I can be 3) Maximize freedom, travel, and adventure in my life 4) Do meaningful work.
“I learned that if you work hard and creatively, you can have just about anything you want, but not everything you want. Maturity is the ability to reject good alternatives in order to pursue even better ones.”
– Ray Dalio / Principles: Life and Work
What do you really want? This determines what “game” you should be playing (Chapter 16, Psychology of Money / Morgan Housel). Figure out what game you are playing and ignore everything else.
The Chamber of Tech Secrets is closed. Go forth and ponder. I hope these quotes help you achieve all that you hope in this week and beyond. Have a great week! 🙏
What a great reminder that great results don't need to come from complex actions. "write answers to questions and share them once per month".
Complex and sophisticated results are not necessarily achieved by overly complex inputs. Another post getting the mind really thinking. Nice one. "Chamber of Thought Secrets"!!
